NUKE 6.1 adds Ultimatte to the list of keying tools available to artists.
Artists now have have access to all the industry standard keyers, Primatte, Keylight and Ulitimatte as well as NUKE's own powerful IBK.
3D WORKFLOW AND INTERACTION
3D snapping & selection, all user extendable with Python
The 3D system inside NUKE now allows you to select any 3D object, or 3D points in the viewer and add 3D objects to them, including cameras and lights. This makes setting up cards to attach to geometry and moving objects around easy and fast.
FBX EXPORT (cameras, point cloud, lights, axis, geometry)
In addition to FBX input, NUKE now has FBX export, enabling a simple full 3D round trip to and from your 3D applications. Cameras, point clouds, axis and geometry are fully supported along with stereo.
INTERACTIVE VIEWING THROUGH CAMERA (camera & light positioning and orientation)
You can now set the camera position and animation as you look through the camera view. This greatly simplifies workflow.
GET/SET LOCAL AND WORLD TRANSFORM 4x4 MATRIX ON 3D OPERATORS
Access to the full 3D transformation matrix is now available on 3D operators. This allows the artist to set the 3D transformation matrix via an expression, through python or via the UI. For example the artist can link the camera position to camera metadata obtained from or embedded in an exr 3D render.
