Almeno quando non s’imbattono in un vampito, Larten Crepsley (John C. Reilly): di fronte a lui Steve impallidisce e scappa via. Si è infatti accorto che Larten è un vero vampiro e in segreto si incontra con lui per chiedergli di poter diventare il suo apprendista. Darren assiste di nascosto all’incontro e ascolta il vampiro rifiutare l’offerta del suo amico. Il giorno dopo i due ragazzi fanno ritorno al circo, dove Steve viene morso dal ragno velenoso di Larten: Darren chiede al vampiro di salvare il suo amico e questi accetta a patto che sia lui a diventare il suo apprendista. Darren diviene così un giovane vampiro ed entra a far parte del freak show itinerante, parte integrante di una guerra millenaria che contrappone i vampiri ai loro acerrimi rivali: i vampanesi.

The 14 year old Darren (Chris Kelly) is a guy like another of his residential neighborhood in an American city. He has good friends, good at school and tend not to put in Guia. But when he and his friend Steve came upon a traveling freak show, everything is about to change. Darren and Steve visit the bizarre event, and facing bearded women and werewolves are laughing, thinking that this is a complete hoax. At least when they run into a vampire, Larten Crepsley (John C. Reilly): Steve pales in front of him and runs away. Indeed it was noticed that Larten is a real vampire and secretly meets with him to ask him to become his apprentice. Darren assists in secret and hears vampire reject the offer of his friend. The next day the two boys are returning to the circus, where Steve is bitten by a poisonous spider Larten Darren asks the vampire to save his friend and accepts them as long for him to become his apprentice. Darren becomes a young vampire and joins the traveling freak show, part of an ancient war that pits vampires to their bitter rivals: the vampanesi.

This is a welcome 12 disc reissue of the Erato recordings by late Mravinsky, including the memorable live performances and stereo recordings. I don't agree with some of his interpretations here, but many of these performances are utterly gripping and incandescent, reflecting Mravinsky's uncompromising quest for ever deeper musicality and emotional/spiritual experiences.

10cc are a British art rock band who achieved their greatest commercial success in the 1970s. The band initially consisted of four musicians—Graham Gouldman, Eric Stewart, Kevin Godley and Lol Creme—who had written and recorded together for some three years, before assuming the "10cc" name in 1972.

For the most part, 10cc featured two strong songwriting teams, one 'commercial' and one 'artistic'. Both teams however injected sharp wit to lyrically-dextrous and musically varied songs. Stewart and Gouldman were predominantly pop-song-writers, who created most of the band's accessible songs. By way of contrast, Godley and Creme were the predominantly experimental half of 10cc, featuring an Art School sensibility and cinematic inspired writing. Every member was a multi-instrumentalist, singer, writer, and producer. Most of the band's albums were recorded at their own Strawberry Studios (North) in Stockport, England and Strawberry Studios (South) in Dorking, England, with most of those engineered by Stewart.

Formed in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1973, Pilot initially consisted of David Paton (b. 29 October 1951, Edinburgh; bass/vocals) and Billy Lyall (b. 26 March 1953, Edinburgh; synthesizer/piano/flute and vocals), two former members of the Bay City Rollers and Stuart Tosh (b. 26 September 1951, Aberdeen, Scotland; drums). The trio won a contract with EMI Records after recording a series of demos in London. Session guitarist Ian Bairnson (b. 3 August 1953, Shetland Isles, Scotland) was recruited in the autumn of 1974. Having secured a Top 20 hit with 'Magic', the group reached the number 1 spot in 1975 with 'January', a simple, but perfectly crafted pop song.

The group enjoyed two minor chart entries with 'Call Me Round' and 'Just A Smile', but their increasingly lightweight style quickly palled. Tosh left to join 10CC, while Bairnson and Paton pursued studio careers, which included sessions for Kate Bush's debut ‘The Kick Inside’ (1978) and several recordings for Alan Parsons and Chris DeBurgh. Billy Lyall recorded a solo album in 1976, "Solo Casting", which featured several former colleagues, and later joined Dollar. In December 1989, he died weighing less than five stone, a victim of an AIDS-related illness.

The Jam were an English punk rock/mod revival band active during the late 1970s and early 1980s. They were formed in Woking, Surrey. While they shared the "angry young men" outlook and fast tempos of their punk rock contemporaries, The Jam wore neatly tailored suits rather than ripped clothes, and they incorporated a number of mainstream 1960s rock influences rather than rejecting them, placing The Jam at the forefront of the mod revival movement.
